  • 7th Grade
    Seventh grade students review the alphabetic, number, symbol and 10-key, and proper keyboarding techniques are emphasized. Desktop publishing is introduced and students learn to use a variety of techniques to create business documents including a web page. PowerPoint is reviewed and students learn strategies for creating effective presentations. Microsoft Access is taught so students learn the concepts of databases. Students will create, search, and sort databases and will discuss the uses for databases in our society today.
  • 8th Grade
    Eighth grade students review the alphabetic, number, symbol and 10-key, and proper keyboarding techniques are reinforced for use in high school. Students complete a resume to begin thinking about careers. Movie Maker is introduced, which enables students to explore cartooning as a possible career choice and as an alternative to using PowerPoint for school projects. Spreadsheets are taught using the program Microsoft Excel. Students learn to create, format, and edit spreadsheets and to write formulas that will calculate answers. Throughout this course, career preparation is discussed and encouraged
